🏛️ Blue Snow Boosts Energy Efficiency at The Astana, Sarawak
In a landmark project that blends heritage preservation with innovation, Blue Snow Consulting & Engineering Sdn Bhd successfully conducted a 16-day energy performance validation at The Astana, Kuching, Sarawak, from 30 November to 15 December 2022.
🏰 Heritage Meets Innovation
Built in 1870 by Charles Brooke, the second “White Rajah” of Sarawak, The Astana remains one of Sarawak’s most iconic historical landmarks. Today, it serves as the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak, managed by JKR Sarawak.
Despite operating with a 28-year-old chiller system, the introduction of Blue Snow’s graphene-based nanofluid delivered remarkable performance improvements.
⚡ Proven Results with Graphene Nanofluid
During the validation, the following results were achieved:
- ✅ With one chiller: 21% increase in energy efficiency
- ✅ With two chillers: 41.7% increase in energy efficiency
The test involved replacing conventional water with graphene nanofluid, AQUENE in the closed-loop chilled water system, requiring no system modifications.
🌱 Sustained Energy Savings for the Future
The graphene-based nanofluid continues to operate at The Astana, delivering long-term energy savings and highlighting the reliability of this innovative solution.
This project demonstrates how modern technology can enhance the sustainability of heritage assets, ensuring they remain functional, efficient, and environmentally responsible for years to come.
