🌿 XO TEX Industrial Co. Ltd: Cambodia’s First LEED v4 Gold Certified Garment Facility
Blue Snow Consulting & Engineering (BSCE) is proud to celebrate a landmark achievement in Cambodia’s green building movement — the XO TEX Industrial Co. Ltd, a modern garment manufacturing facility developed by Luen Thai Holdings in Phnom Penh.
This state-of-the-art facility is the first building in Cambodia to achieve LEED v4 Gold Certification under the Building Design and Construction (BD+C) – New Construction rating system, setting a new benchmark for sustainable industrial development.
💡 Energy Efficiency & Green Building Strategies
The XO TEX facility was designed with advanced energy and sustainability measures, achieving 55% energy savings compared to the ASHRAE 90.1 Baseline Standard. Key strategies include:
- 🌬️ High-performance evaporative cooling systems
- 💡 Energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the facility
- ☀️ On-site solar photovoltaic (PV) panels
These initiatives deliver substantial operational cost savings while reducing the facility’s environmental footprint.
🌍 Carbon Reduction Impact
Through its energy strategies, XO TEX Industrial achieves an estimated 1,151 tonnes CO₂e reduction annually. This directly supports Cambodia’s national target of 40% GHG emission reduction by 2030, contributing to regional and global climate goals.
🔧 Driving Sustainable Change in the Garment Industry
The LEED v4 Gold certification of XO TEX Industrial sets a precedent for sustainable garment manufacturing in Cambodia. By demonstrating the financial and environmental benefits of green building practices, this project paves the way for wider adoption across the textile sector.
